On Windows 11, you can now use the Copilot application to find, open, and query files stored on your computer. You can ask any question about a file in the most natural language to quickly find it using Copilot. This search function is available for Copilot version 1.25034.133.0 and later. Below are instructions on how to search for files using Copilot on Windows 11.
How to search for files using Copilot on Windows 11
Step 1:
Open the Copilot application on your computer, then click on your profile picture and select Settings from the menu that appears.
Step 2:
Switch to the Copilot application settings interface, find the Permission settings group , and activate the File search option to use Copilot's file search feature on your computer. Continue by enabling File read to allow Copilot to read your files.
Step 3:
Now, enter your file search query using Copilot , such as "Show me the Word document files we worked on yesterday," and then press submit as usual.
Simply tap on the found file to open it with the corresponding application.
After you complete these steps, Copilot will be able to display results about the files stored on your computer.
