Instructions for fixing 'Unfortunately, Android Keyboard Has Stopped' error
On a beautiful day you take your Android phone to text your friends or relatives.But unfortunately the keyboard failed, the error message 'Unfortunately, Android keyboard has stopped' was displayed on the screen and you couldn't compose and send the message.You have applied everything but still cannot fix the error.
So how to fix this error, please refer to the following article of Network Administrator.
1. Restart the keyboard
Restarting the keyboard is the 'Unfortunately, Android Keyboard Has Stopped' solution. To restart the Keyboard, follow the steps below:
- First open the Settings app (settings) on your Android device.
- Next scroll down to find and click Apps or on some devices, Application .
- Swipe to All (all) tab.
- Find and press the Android Keyboard application.
- Click Force Stop to stop the keyboard.
Finally exit the Settings menu and check if the keyboard is working.
If you are using the 3rd keyboard application or if the manufacturer preinstalled their keyboard, you should look for that keyborad and use it.
2. Restart your Android device
In some cases, restarting your Android device may also help to correct some errors. Try restarting your Android device and check the 'Unfortunately, Android Keyboard Has Stopped' error or not.
3. Clear the keyboard cache and data
Clearing an application's cache and data allows you to delete corrupted files and cause errors. Deleting cache files will not delete any important information, but only delete personal settings when you delete data files from any application.
- Open the Settings app on your Android device.
- Next click Application Manager under Apps or Application section.
- Swipe to All (all) tab.
- Next search for keyboard application. It can be the Android Keyboard or keyboard you are using (in case of installing the 3rd keyboard application).
- Click the keyboard application.
- Click Clear Cache.
- Next click Clear Data.
- Click OK to confirm.
After deleting the cache and data files, restart your device and check if the keyboard is working.
4. Delete the cache and data files of the Dictionary application (dictionary)
Dictionary application (dictionary) is quite related to the Keyboard application. So to fix the 'unfortunately keyboard has stopped' error you can try to delete the cache and data files of the Dictionary application.
- Open the Settings app on your Android device.
- Next click Application Manager under Apps or Application section.
- Swipe to All (all) tab.
- Scroll down to find and press the Dictionary application.
- Click Clear Cache .
- Click Clear Data.
- Click OK to confirm.
Finally check if the error has been fixed.
5. Reset the Keyboard setting
Samsung devices often use Samsung keyboards. So you can reset the keyboard settings to fix the error. If you are a Samsung user, follow the steps below to reset the keyboard settings:
- Open the Settings application (settings) on your device.
- Next find and click Language and Input.
- Click Samsung Keyboard .
- Next scroll down and click Reset Settings.
After resetting the keyboard setting, check if the error has been fixed.
6. Use the 3rd application
Instead of using the default keyborad application on your Android device, you can use the 3rd keyboard application as the default keyboard to fix the error.
Access Google Play Store on your Android device, find and download the appropriate keyboard application. After you have downloaded and installed the keyboard application, you will be asked if you want to set up the application as the default application. Your task is to confirm the keyboard application you just installed as the default application to fix the error.
7. Update device software
Software on your Android device plays an extremely important role, supporting your applications to run smoother.
Failure to update the software on the Android device may cause some errors. So to fix the error you can apply the solution is to update the software.
- Open the Settings app (installed) on your Android device.
- Find and click About Device .
- Click Software Update or System Update.
- Your device will check for the latest updates.
If your device is updated, you will receive a confirmation dialog.
8. Start the Android device in Safe Mode
To start your Android device in Safe Mode, follow the steps below:
- Press and hold the Power button ( Power button) until the popup window appears with options.
- Click Airplane Mode (flight mode) to launch your Android device in airplane mode.
- On the screen that appears a confirmation dialog, your task is to click OK to confirm.
After your Android device starts in Safe Mode, on the screen you will see the words Safe Mode. Your task now is to check the keyboard in Safe Mode.
If the keyboard does not work, it means that a third application that you are using may be the "culprit" that caused the error. To verify which application is the culprit causing the error, you must first find and try to disable recently installed applications. Disable each application and check if the keyboard is working. After you discover the application that caused the error, proceed to remove the application.
If the keyboard still doesn't work, you can apply the solution to uninstall the keyboard, then try to download and reinstall the 3rd keyboard application on Google Play Store.
9. Factory Reset
If you've tried all of the above solutions and still can't fix the error, your last solution is to implement Factory Reset.
Note:
Back up all your data to ensure that no important data has been lost after resetting the device.
- Open the Settings application on your device.
- Find and click Backup and Reset.
- Check the box to allow backing up your Google account.
- Click Reset Factory Settings .
- Click Reset Phone.
