How to turn off WhatsApp status notifications

WhatsApp divides notifications into different channels: one for direct messages, one for group chats, and one for status updates. When you mute group chat notifications, you only mute that group chat channel. You will still receive WhatsApp status notifications. Below are instructions on how to mute WhatsApp status notifications.

Step 1:

On the WhatsApp interface, tap the Updates tab . Then, press and hold the WhatsApp status notification of the friend you want to turn off . After that, tap Hide to apply the changes.

Step 2:

You will then be asked if you want to hide your friends' WhatsApp statuses; press Hide to do so.

You can continue this process with other WhatsApp statuses of your friends that you want to hide. All hidden WhatsApp statuses will be saved in the "Hidden" section as shown in the image.

Step 3:

You will now see a list of friends who have turned off WhatsApp status notifications. To show notifications again, press and hold, then select Unhide .

How to block WhatsApp status notifications

Step 1:

We tap on Settings and then select Notifications to adjust the settings. In the Status Notifications section, we need to turn off Show notifications .

Step 2:

At that time, WhatsApp status notifications were turned off and reaction notifications were also turned off .
