How to convert a Keynote presentation to PowerPoint
If you're creating a presentation in Keynote and want to send it to a friend using a Windows PC, you'll need to convert Keynote to PowerPoint. Fortunately, Keynote has an option that allows you to easily convert Keynote to PowerPoint.
The two most widely used presentation tools are Apple's Keynote and Microsoft's PowerPoint . Because they are two different platforms, if you create a presentation in Keynote and want to send it to a friend using a Windows PC, you'll need to convert Keynote to PowerPoint. Fortunately, Keynote itself has an option to easily convert Keynote to PowerPoint.
Converting Keynote presentations to PowerPoint on iOS
Step 1. Open the Keynote app on your iOS device.
Next, open an existing Keynote presentation or create a new one. To create a new presentation, click the Recents tab at the bottom. Then, click the ' + ' button at the top.
To view the current presentation, click the Recents tab at the bottom.
Note: If you sync your presentations with iCloud Drive, click the Browse tab at the bottom and navigate to the saved folder.
Step 2. Touch and hold the presentation you want to convert.
Note: Alternatively, tap the presentation to open it. Then, tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner. Next, select Export .
Step 3. Next, a popup window will appear. Select Share .
Note: On iPhone, tap the small arrow button to display the Share option.
Step 4. Next, select Export in the sharing panel.
Step 5. Select the PowerPoint option next to PDF.
After saving the file, you can share it via iMessage, email, or other file sharing tools, and your friends can easily read and edit it with Microsoft PowerPoint.
Converting a Keynote presentation to PowerPoint using macOS
On a Mac, open the presentation in Keynote and choose File > Export To > PowerPoint .
If you need to use an older version of PowerPoint, click Advanced Options to change the format from .pptx to .ppt.
Click the Next button , then enter the name you want to save it as, and then click Export when you're finished.
You can open the converted Keynote presentation file in PowerPoint after you're finished.
If your Keynote presentation uses any non-system fonts, you may find that these fonts are replaced in the converted PowerPoint file, as the conversion process cannot preserve them as they were originally.
Transfer your Keynote presentation to PowerPoint using iCloud.
If you don't have access to an Apple device, you can still use Keynote to convert your presentation to PowerPoint format using iCloud on your PC, but you will need an Apple ID.
To begin, go to the iCloud website and sign in to your Apple account. Click the Keynote icon to launch the Keynote web application.
Find the presentation you want to convert in iCloud storage, then tap the More button.
Select the Download a Copy… option from the drop-down menu.
Select the PowerPoint option to choose PowerPoint as your desired download format.
Once selected, iCloud will begin converting Keynote to PowerPoint, downloading the file in the process.
Use a conversion website.
If you don't have an Apple account or access to an Apple device, the above methods won't work. You'll need to use an online conversion website to convert your Keynote presentation into a PowerPoint file.
There are a large number of free or paid online websites for converting files. One of them is Zamzar.com.
Open the Zamzar website to get started, then click the Add Files… button . Navigate to the Keynote presentation you want to convert, then select it to upload.
Once your file is uploaded to the Zamzar website, click the Convert To option and select pptx.
If you have a version of PowerPoint released before 2007, you will need to use the older ppt format. Click Convert Now to begin the conversion process.
Once the file has been converted, click the Download button to save it.
