How to set default video player Windows 11

Setting the default video player in Windows 11 will ensure that the video or audio is opened with your favorite application, saving time by not having to select the playback application again. We can choose the video player that is installed on the computer, or choose the application installed from a third party. Below are instructions for setting the default video player in Windows 11.

 

Set Windows 11 default video player from Settings

Step 1:

Open Settings on Windows 11, then click on Apps and look at the content next to it and select Default apps .

 

Step 2:

Now you find the application or video player that you want to use to open music or video on your computer.

Step 3:

Displays a list of supported files to open on your computer. Click on each video format and then select the default video player for this format that you want to use.

 

Once selected, click Set default below.

Step 1:

Right- click the video and select Open with , then select Choose another app . This will bring up a list of compatible apps.

 

Step 2:

In the video player options on Windows 11, select the default player for this video format and then click Always to set it as the default for playing this video format.
