How to Reset Windows 7 Password

If you forget your Windows 7 password, you will have to reset your user account password to log in. Windows 7 passwords can be reset by your network administrator if your computer is in a domain, or can be reset using a password reset disk if your computer is in a HomeGroup or workgroup. Click on your computer's "Start" menu.

Select "Control Panel".

Type the administrative password for your domain.

Remove the portable hard drive from the computer, and store it in a safe place. You will need this portable hard drive in case you forget your Windows 7 password.
