How to Open an Apple Message
This wikiHow will teach you how to open an Apple Message on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Open the Messages app. This is the green app icon with a white speech bubble in the bottom app bar.
Method 1 of 2:
iPhone or iPad

Open the Messages app. This is the green app icon with a white speech bubble in the bottom app bar.- This may also appear on one of the home pages instead.

Tap a conversation to open an existing message chain.- These will appear in the left sidebar on an iPad.
- Conversations with unread messages will appear in bold face.

Tap the pencil and paper icon to open a new message. This is in the upper right corner.- Tap the 'To' field to add a recipient to the message. This field must be filled out before it can be sent.

Mac
- Open the Messages app. This is the green app icon with a white speech bubble in the bottom launcher bar.
- Click a conversation to open an existing message chain. Conversations appear in the left sidebar and the conversation will open in the right panel.
- Conversations with unread messages will appear in bold face.
- Click the pencil and paper icon to open a new message. This is in the upper right corner of the left sidebar.
- Click the 'To' field to add a recipient to the message. This field must be filled out before it can be sent.
