How to lock your Facebook profile so strangers can't see it.

The Facebook profile lock feature increases the privacy of your Facebook account, preventing strangers from seeing the content you post. This protects you from prying eyes of people who aren't your friends. Below are instructions on how to enable Facebook profile lock on your phone and computer.

Step 1:

On your Facebook profile page, tap the three-dot icon as shown in the image. On the new screen, select "Lock profile" to proceed.

Step 2:

At this point, you will see information on how to lock your Facebook profile. Click on "Lock Profile" to proceed. Immediately, your Facebook profile will be locked, preventing strangers from viewing it.

 

At this point, a message will appear on your profile page stating "You have locked your profile protection," as shown in the image below.

 

Step 4:

To unlock your Facebook profile , tap the three-dot icon again and select "Unlock Profile" . Then tap "Unlock" to proceed. Tap "Unlock Profile" to unlock your Facebook page.

You have now unlocked your Facebook page as before.

Instructions on how to enable Facebook profile lock on a computer.

Step 1:

On the Facebook interface, tap your profile picture, then select Settings & Privacy , and then tap Settings again to adjust your account.

Step 2:

Looking at the customization list on the left side of the interface, scroll down to Audience and display mode, and then select Profile Protection Lock .

Step 3:

Immediately afterwards, your Facebook profile was created. At the same time, the notification interface will appear as shown below.

When a stranger accesses your profile page, they won't see any posts, even if it's set to Public.

 

Specifically, they cannot view Facebook profile pictures because Facebook's profile lock feature also locks profile pictures.

Step 4:

To unlock your Facebook profile , tap the "Lock Profile" option again in Facebook Settings. Then, tap the "Unlock" button .

Finally, click "Unlock Profile" to complete the process.
