What are AI Actions in File Explorer?

These shortcuts in the context menu let you blur or remove the background of an image, and completely remove objects. You can also use Bing Visual Search to find images similar to the one you're editing online.

You can also summarize the contents of Word and Excel files, although you'll need a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription for this.

Note : This feature is not available to everyone right now as it is being tested in the Dev and Beta channels of Windows Insider for PC Copilot+.

What you need to enable AI Actions

  1. Download ViveTool from GitHub and extract the files to a new folder on your desktop.
  2. Copy the folder location path and launch Command Prompt with admin rights .
  3. Navigate to the directory location using the cd command .
  4. Type the following command and press Enter: vivetool /enable /id:54792954,55345819,48433719
  5. Restart your PC and go back to File Explorer. Right-click to confirm AI Actions in the menu.
