How to create a wireless network report in Windows 11

The wireless network report is one of the most useful tools in Windows for diagnosing Wi-Fi connection problems. This process generates a wireless network report saved as an HTML file. The report displays all Wi-Fi events from the past three days and groups them by Wi-Fi session. It also shows the results of several network-related command lines and a list of all network adapters on the computer. Below are instructions on how to create a network report on Windows.

Step 1:

We open Command Prompt with administrator privileges and then enter the command below to execute it.

netsh wlan show wlanreport​

Next, the report generation process is carried out. We access the report via the path C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsWlanReportwlan-report-latest.html .

Step 2:

Open the report and you will see the main sections.

Wi-Fi Summary Graph: This graph displays the available Wi-Fi sessions in the report. Select a section of the graph to navigate to the corresponding Wi-Fi session shown in the report.

A red circle indicates an error. If you see a red circle, select it to view information about the error.

Report information : Displays the report creation date and the number of reporting days.

General System Information : Contains detailed information about your computer. This includes the computer name, system manufacturer, system product name, BIOS date, BIOS version, operating system build, machine ID, and information about whether the machine is eligible for MDM.

User information : Contains general information about the person currently logged into the computer. This includes:

  1. Username. The user currently logged into the computer.
  2. User domain name. The domain name that the computer is connected to.
  3. The user's DNS domain name.

Network Adapters : Contains a detailed list of all network adapters on your computer.

Script output:

  1. The IPConfig /all command displays detailed information about the status of the adapters on the system.
  2. The NetSh WLAN Show All command displays detailed information about the Wi-Fi adapter.
  3. The commands CertUtil -store -silent My and certutil -store -silent -user My contain a list of certificates currently available on the computer.
  4. Display Configurations: A detailed list of all Wi-Fi configurations stored on the computer.

Summary:

  1. Session Success/Failure: A summary of reported successes, failures, and alerts for various Wi-Fi sessions.
  2. Reasons for disconnection: List the various reasons why you might have been disconnected from the Wi-Fi network.
  3. Session duration : The chart shows the duration of each session.
  4. Wireless session : All Wi-Fi events associated with each Wi-Fi session.
