How to connect Bluetooth devices on Windows 10, 8, and 7
Connecting Bluetooth devices to your Windows computer allows you to easily share data quickly.
The USB protocol for connecting technological devices is becoming increasingly widespread and ubiquitous in the market today, from complex products like cameras to simpler and more familiar components like phones and headphones. That's the theory, but in practice, many people encounter difficulties connecting peripheral devices to their computers via Bluetooth. In this guide, we will present the most basic steps to complete this process on Windows operating systems.
1. Connect Bluetooth devices on Windows 10
To enable Bluetooth on a Windows 10 computer, there are two ways: using the keyboard or configuring the Bluetooth option in the Windows 10 system settings.
Method 1: Using keyboard shortcuts
Currently, some laptop models support the Fn key + function key from F1 to F12 to turn Bluetooth on or off on the computer.
Method 2: Turn on Bluetooth on your Windows 10 laptop using Action Center
If your computer doesn't have a dedicated Bluetooth function key, you can enable it through the system's Bluetooth settings.
Click the Action icon or press the Windows + A key combination to open the Action Center, then select the Bluetooth icon to switch it on .
To scan for devices you want to pair with your Windows 10 computer, go to the Bluetooth settings interface on your Windows 10 system.

2. Connecting Bluetooth devices on Windows 7
With modern devices, turning on and using Bluetooth is incredibly simple and easy; however, with a relatively old operating system like Windows 7, not everyone knows how to turn it on, connect, and troubleshoot problems when working with Bluetooth.
To use Bluetooth on Windows 7, please note the following:
- Check if your computer has Bluetooth.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on and the icon appears on the taskbar.
- Ensure that any wireless control software or power source has Bluetooth enabled.
- Ensure that the Bluetooth-connected device is powered on and check its power indicator light.
- You can press the Connect button on your Bluetooth device to make it shake hands with the Bluetooth adapter on your computer or laptop.
- Ensure that the Bluetooth device driver is successfully installed.

Step 2: Next, click on the PC and devices section .
Step 3: In the PC and device settings interface, click on the Bluetooth option . On the right-hand side, users need to switch Bluetooth to the On position before they can use it.
Immediately afterward, the Windows computer will automatically search for Bluetooth devices for us to choose from to connect.
Step 4: Click on the device you want to connect and press the Pair button .
We wait a moment for the two devices to connect. Then, you will see a connection code like the one below. Press Yes on both connected devices.
Step 5: The two devices are now connected. To send data, simply right-click on the data and select "Send by Bluetooth" to the previously connected device.
Wait for the data transfer process to finish and you're done.
The above is a guide on how to enable Bluetooth on Windows 7, 8, and 10, and connect Bluetooth devices to your Windows computer. If your Windows 8 computer doesn't find Bluetooth, you need to check if Bluetooth is enabled or install the Bluetooth driver. For Windows 10 computers, simply updating the driver is sufficient.
