Guide to self-studying knowledge on NotebookLM

The review guidance mode in the Reports section of NotebookLM will turn any document you have, including textbooks, into a self-study and review resource to test your knowledge, alongside the quiz creation feature in NotebookLM . The self-study mode will generate essay questions for learners to review their knowledge, and then provide answers for verification. Below are detailed instructions for you to follow.

 

How to use the self-study mode on NotebookLM

Step 1:

First, you need to upload the materials to NotebookLM to use as the source material for your review. You can upload review materials and textbooks in either .doc or PDF format.

Step 2:

Look to the side and click on the "Reports" option to use it.

 

At this point, you will see all the types of content available in the report on NotebookLM. Click on the pen icon in the Study Guide mode to set up self-study content on NotebookLM.

Step 3:

This will then display an interface describing the self-study content you want to create from the uploaded document.

You will immediately find review guides for both teachers and students to review the material on their own.

The review materials will include a list of specialized vocabulary used to help learners grasp the concepts.
