Forgot Password to access Macbook?
Many users often have the habit of setting a password for their computer, Macbook to secure the information in the machine. It is very common for users to forget their password to log on to a computer. However in this case many people will not know how to do it? In the following article, TipsMake.com will guide you how to login to the Macbook if you forget your password.
1. Reset your password using Apple ID
This trick only applies if you have linked your Mac account with Apple ID . This is only applicable if you haven't set up FileVault encryption or if you have FileVault encryption set up, then Mac OS X must have your iCloud Recovery Key . This is the default option. If you do not activate FileVault and iCloud Account Recovery , it will not work.
If you forget your Mac access password, on the login screen, simply enter the wrong password 3 times. After 3 times of incorrect password login, a message will appear on the screen "If you forgot your password, you can reset your password using your Apple ID" . Click on the Apple ID login section and enter your Apple ID to reset the password.
2. Enter your FileVault Recovery Key
If you have FileVault encryption enabled and your Mac does not contain your iCloud account Recovery Key , FileVault will provide you with a Recovery Key and notice if you should print or note this Recovery Key again.
After the Recovery Key , on the login screen you can enter the Recovery Key into the password section. Recovery Key decrypts the password to access your Mac . Once logged in, you can change your password by going to the System Settings window and selecting the Users & Groups tool and following the instructions.

3. Reset password from OS X Recovery (If you have not enabled FileVault encryption)
If you have not enabled FileVault encryption, there is a way to reset the User password. You just need to reboot your Mac , during Mac boot, press and hold Command + R. This will boot your Mac in special Recovery mode, also known as OS X Recovery .
From OS X Recovery , you can access a hidden password recovery tool and use it to change the password of any user account on the Mac .
This is one reason why you should enable FileVault encryption on your Mac - help prevent strangers from entering your password and accessing your Mac .
In case you are not sure that you have activated the UEFI firmware password on the Mac , you will not be able to access OS X Recovery unless you remember the password.
4. Login as another User (If you are using FileVault Encryption)
If you have multiple User accounts on your Mac and are using FileVault encryption, you can try logging into your Mac as another User account.
If you are allowed to use another User account to decode the Mac login password, you can log in and access the machine. You can then create a new User account or regain access to your old user account.
5. Reinstall Mac OS X (If you are using FileVault Encryption)
If your Mac contains a UEFI password , you cannot access OS X Recovery to reset your password or reinstall Mac OS X without a password.
When you try to boot Mac into Recovery mode or restart the Mac with an external device, on the screen you will see a large lock icon and a frame to type your password.
Note, this is another password with your User account password. If you can't access your Mac , the only way is to delete the UEFI password .
Note: If you do not remember the Apple ID (iCloucd) password , you can visit the Apple website to be provided with an Apple ID password.
Good luck!
