Facebook forces users to watch 8 seconds of ads before continuing to scroll

Recently, a Facebook user reflected on Facebook forcing him to watch ads long enough to continue surfing this social networking site.

According to Facebook's notice displayed on the screen, the reason for this is what Mark Zuckerberg calls 'Ad Breaks'.

Users had to watch 8 seconds of ads before they could continue surfing. Thus, if Facebook users do not watch enough ads, they will not be able to continue surfing.

'Ad Breaks' is the activity of inserting ads into videos to benefit Facebook, brands as well as content creators, and has appeared on Facebook for a long time. But before, it only appeared inside the video. According to Facebook, there are 3 types of Ad Breaks: before the video runs, while the video is running, and photo ads.

But with recent feedback from users, it seems that Facebook is planning to put Ad Breaks in the main news feed.

Placing ads in the middle of Facebook's main page and preventing users from continuing to scroll if they don't watch the ad long enough will affect the user experience.

It is unclear whether Taking a break to advertise on this message board is a mandatory requirement, or just a temporary error.

Encountering ads when consuming content has become common sense as users can encounter ads anywhere, from newspapers and magazines to television programs or YouTube. However, where to place ads is a delicate problem. If not skillful, watching ads will become an unpleasant experience for content consumers, and ads will be counterproductive.
