The search in Windows 10 is not very reliable. Searching in Start has always been a problem for many users.

Indexer Diagnostic Tool for Windows 10

The Indexer Diagnostic Tool is a new utility developed by Microsoft to help Windows 10 users find and fix search problems. Users running version 1809 and above can use the Indexer Diagnostic Tool.
The Indexer Diagnostic Tool is not just a diagnostic tool. The tool also displays the current status of the Search Index service, the total number of files indexed, and the hourly, day, and week indexes used.

The Search is not working tab allows you to quickly reset or restart the search service.
If a file does not show up in the search results, you can use this tool to check if the file is indexed. To do that, navigate to the 'Is my file indexed?' Tab . Click the Browse button to select the file, and then click the Verify button . You can also add new locations to the search index by clicking the Add button in the 'What is being indexed?' Tab . . This tab also has an option to delete current locations from the index.

When the search indexer is inactive, you can use the tools in the Performance tab .
In short, this is a tool suitable for all Windows 10. users. Microsoft plans to add new functions to this tool in the near future.
What to do if you have trouble finding or indexing?
If you're having trouble finding or indexing, you should manually rebuild the Search Index and use the built-in Search and Indexing troubleshooter found on Settings> Update & Security> Troubleshoot before trying this tool out.
