Admire Downtown Circle - the 'circular city' in the sky with a circumference of 3,000m surrounding the Burj Khalifa tower
Downtown Circle will be a colossal structure with a distinctive design that stands out among the tall, isolated buildings. The city will be supported by five giant vertical pillars.
This circular city has everything a bustling metropolis should have, including public, commercial, residential and cultural spaces. The Downtown Circle consists of five main levels and is divided into several smaller units, designed to mimic nature and create diverse public spaces.
Downtown Circle consists of two layers of rings connected by a seamless green belt - Skypark, combining greenery and urban functions providing fresh air, abundant natural light and panoramic views.
Surrounding the Skypark are offices, research centers, cultural spaces. In particular, there is an ecosystem including canyons, sand dunes, swamps, waterfalls, caves and tropical vegetation, acting as a lung for the entire city above.
Znera Space, the architectural firm behind Downtown Circle, wants to make the elevated circular city an integral part of the urban ecosystem. The firm plans to create a wildlife sanctuary, build rainwater harvesting areas, solar power stations, air pollution filtration systems, and carbon storage.
Downtown Circle also features a rail transit system that includes a fleet of suspended trains that run along the outer ring of the circular city's lowest level. The trains travel at speeds of up to 100km/h, offering 360-degree views of the entire city below from a height of about 500m.
