Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world is about to be usurped, the new world record is about to be established
The tallest building in the world today is Burj Khalifa, 828 meters high, located in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. But by 2020, Burj Khalifa will have to cede this title to a higher tower named The Tower being built in Dubai.

According to the construction houses, The Tower will have a height of 'one step' beyond Burj Khalifa and was built at Dubai Creek port. This is a project designed by the Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls and built by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding.
The shape of The Tower is inspired by lilies and cathedral towers - the cultural symbol of Islam. This building was not built in the style of a traditional skyscraper, it was fixed to the ground with solid cables.
Once completed, the tower will consist of 20 floors and a botanical garden simulating the Hanging Gardens of Babylon with an auto-swinging glass balcony and observation deck allowing visitors to see the city 360 degrees.
Guests can fully enjoy the beauty of the city and admire the view of the sky near the immediate front of the tower's highest room.
The Tower will be completed before the Expo 2020 trade fair held in Dubai. Estimated tower construction cost is 1 billion USD.
