Microsoft on November 12 released a new Build 9879 for those who are participating in the Windows Insider program. Today's upgraded version gives users a host of new features along with improving some of the better experiences.
Microsoft on November 12 released a new Build 9879 for those who are participating in the Windows Insider program. Today's upgraded version gives users a host of new features along with improving some of the better experiences.
Here are the changes in Build 9879:
- Provides the ability to hide or show the Task View button
- Provides the ability to hide or show the Search button
- New minimized and restore effects
- Three dots in Windows now replace the 'hamburger-style' icon
- Some newly added Trackpads include:
- Swipe up 3 fingers: Task View
- Swipe down 3 fingers: Show Desktop
- Flick 3 fingers left or right: switch to the previous application
- Moving 3 fingers left or right: Alt-Tab pops up allows you to highlight and select the application you want
- Touch 3 fingers: Search
- Selective sync with OneDrive is available, you just need to choose what you want to sync with your computer now
- Build 9879 greatly improved Internet Explorer with the introduction of new rendering tools by Edge Microsoft, focusing on interoperability. Edge will only be available in IE for 10% of Windows Insider participants
- MKV file support. Now users can directly open MKV files from Windows Media Player and MKV files will also display thumbnails along with metadata support in File Explorer. There is also new support for DLNA and Play To
- Improved user interface which includes several new icons
- New Insider Hub application: This App will help Windows Insider program participants get the latest news and related announcements.
