Unlock iPhone while wearing a mask.
On iOS 14.5, Apple added the option to use the Apple Watch to unlock the iPhone when the user wears a mask. To use this feature, the Apple Watch needs to be unlocked and have the option to detect wrist movements. When iPhone is unlocked, the watch will vibrate to notify.
Install the default music app.
When you first command Siri to open music, the device will list all music playback applications installed in the device. According to CNET, users only need to choose their favorite app for Siri to play music when requested.
More than 200 new emojis.
IOS 14.5 version added 217 new emojis. These include symbols such as a fiery heart, a sighing face, a face hidden in clouds, and a face with spiral eyes. Some human emojis have an additional skin color option, while the needle icon has the effect of a blood drop removed.
Stream exercise videos from Apple Fitness + to your TV.
Introduced at the end of 2020, Fitness + is a fitness guide service with real-time display parameters on Apple Watch. From iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4, Fitness + users can stream videos of exercise demonstrations to an AirPlay 2-enabled TV for easier monitoring.
App Tracking Transparency on iOS 14.5
App Tracking Transparency is Apple's new policy, forcing apps to consult users before tracking them on other apps and websites, serving targeted advertisements and measuring marketing effectiveness. Supports 2 SIM 5G cards.
After updating iOS 14.5, iPhone 12 users can activate 5G simultaneously on both SIMs. Previously, when using dual SIM on iPhone 12, 5G connection will be reduced to 4G.
New game controller support.
iOS 14.5 supports PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X controllers, allowing users to connect them to iPhone and iPad using Bluetooth to play games. Previously, iOS only supported PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controllers.
iOS 14.5 is still in beta.
Users can sign up to participate in the new version experience by visiting Apple's website here> selecting Sign Up and then following the instructions. After successful registration, go to Settings> Software Update to update to new version. Photo: 9to5mac.
