Minimum system requirements for installing Windows 7.

Before proceeding with the installation, you need to check if your computer meets the requirements for Windows 7.

- CPU 1GHz or higher with 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.

- 1 GB RAM for the 32-bit version or 2 GB RAM for the 64-bit version (for optimal performance on Windows 7 64-bit, 4 GB or more RAM is recommended).

- 16 GB of free HDD space on the drive for 32-bit or 20 GB for 64-bit.

- Graphics card supporting DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher.

How to install Windows 7 using a DVD

Notes on installation:
- You should back up the data on the drive where Windows is installed (default is drive C) and any necessary data before installing.
- Reinstalling Windows means you will delete all data on that drive.
- In some cases, reinstalling Windows may not fully install all drivers. This could be because your device is not automatically supported; you have to download them yourself. This is common with laptops. The second case is that the Windows disc is too old, not the latest or most recent version.
- Using a USB drive or installing from a disc to install Windows 7 is the same; there aren't many significant differences. Using a USB drive is more convenient because most computers now eliminate optical drives.

Step 1 : To set your computer to boot from a CD or DVD in the BIOS.

- Restart your computer and press the Del, F2, F7, F8, or F12 key (depending on your motherboard) to access the BIOS. Refer to instructions on how to access the BIOS for current computer models.
- Once in the BIOS , navigate to the boot tab and select boot from CD/DVD. Refer to instructions on how to configure the BIOS to boot from USB or DVD/CD.

Press F10 to save the settings and restart your computer.

Step 2 : Insert the Windows 7 DVD into the DVD drive and restart your computer. When the screen appears, press any key to begin the installation process. The system will then load the Windows 7 files as shown below.

After the loading is complete, the Windows screen will appear.

- These settings are already configured; you just need to click Next !
- In the next window, select Install now.

Step 3 : Choose the version of Windows 7 you want to install and then select Next.

- In the next window, check the box next to  "I accept the license terms" and then click " Next".

Next, select Custom (advanced)

Step 4 : Select the partition where you want to install Windows 7 and proceed to format the selected partition. 

Note: Make sure you clearly identify the partition where Windows is installed, otherwise you will lose all your important data.
- After formatting, the computer will restart and the Windows 7 boot screen will appear.

From here, just let the installation process run automatically.

Step 5 : Set the region options, set the username, choose the time zone, and activate Windows. If you don't have a key, select "activate later". At this point, the Windows 7 installation from the DVD drive is complete.
