How to use the Guided Access feature on iPhone
You can turn on the Guided Access feature when a child is using your device or when something unintentional affects the work you are doing.
Activate Guided Access
Step 1. Go to Settings> Accessibility , turn on Guided Access .
Step2. Click Set Password , select Set Guided Access Password .
Step 3. Enter the code, then enter it again. From here, you can use Face ID or Touch ID to end a Guided Access session.
Start a Guided Access session
Step 1. Open the app you want to use.
Step 2. From iPhone X and up, triple-click the side button . From iPhone 8 and below, triple-press the Home button .
If you want part of the screen to stop working, circle the screen area with your finger. You can move or resize the circled area, or click the X icon to delete.
Step 3. Click Guided Access , select Get Started .
Step 4. Alternatively you can start a Guided Access session with Siri. Open the app you want and tell Siri to ' Turn on Guided Access '.
Control which features are used
Step 1. To turn off features or set a time limit, triple-press the next button or the Home button, and select Options . If you don't see Options , triple-click the next button or the Home button again and enter the passcode.
Step 2. Select the desired option and press Done .
- On / off button : To disable the on / off button on the device, turn this option off.
- Volume buttons : To disable the volume adjustment on the device, turn this option off.
- Actions : To limit the device's response to gestures, turn this option off. For example, your phone will not respond to vibrations, the screen will no longer rotate no matter which direction you hold the device.
- Keyboard : To disable the keyboard and prevent it from appearing, disable this option.
- Touch : If you want your device to not respond to screen touches, turn this option off.
- Look up dictionary : To use Lookup in text, enable this option.
- Time Limits : To select a limited time level for the Guided Access session, enable this option.
Ends a Guided Access session
3 - click the next button or the Home button , enter the instructed Access code, and then click Finish . Or if you turn on Touch ID or Face ID for Guided Access, double-click the side button or the Home button .
