How to use Chrome's random password to improve web security

There are many random password generation software like LastPass that helps improve web security, but now you don't need to use them anymore because there is a similar tool built right in Google Chrome.

How to enable random password in Chrome

This tool will ask you to enable one of the flags in Chrome. Flags are experimental features and changing the random settings here can be harmful to your system. Therefore, if you are not sure about the features in the flag, do not change anything.

Here's how to enable random passwords on Chrome

  1. Open Chrome browser.
  2. Enter chrome: // flags into the Omnibox bar and press Enter.
  3. Roll down the Password generation section.
  4. Click Enabled from the box below the Password generation section.

Now, whenever Chrome sees the password field on any web page, it automatically suggests a random password in the drop-down menu. You can use it whenever you change your password or create a new account.

Note: Please write down the password on the paper or in your password manager. Ideally, you should not save passwords in the browser - because even Chrome's root password manager is not safe.
