Contact your carrier and tell them you want to jailbreak your phone. Most genuine phone providers will unlock it for you as long as the contract is signed or you have paid in full. They can also jailbreak your phone if you're traveling in another country or need to use a local carrier.

Contact the carrier you want to use. A few companies are willing to jailbreak a phone if it's one of their competitors. Reach out to the carriers you're looking to use and learn about this policy.

Third Party Jailbreak

Find a service. There are many companies online that will sell jailbreak codes for your phone. These companies circumvent the law by operating in countries where US law does not apply.

Research your options. Before paying any company to jailbreak your phone, research the company as much as you can. Find user reviews, ask questions on phone enthusiasts forums. Always be on the lookout for potential fraud, especially if you're paying under contract with a carrier.

Check IMEI code of Iphone. Your iPhone will be added to Apple's official list of unlocked phones, which means it will remain unlocked even if you upgrade to higher iOS versions. To do so, the company you're hiring will need your phone's IMEI code (International Identifier for Mobile Devices), which is unique to your Iphone. There are several ways to search for this code:

On any Iphone, you can do *#06# and the IMEI code will be displayed.

On genuine Iphone or Iphone 5, the code is engraved on the back of the device.

On Iphone 3G, 3GS, 4, and 4S, IMEI code is printed on Sim slot

In iTunes, a connected iPhone will display the IMEI code on the Summary window, below the iPhone's storage.

Payment for services. Usually, you may have to wait from a few hours to a few days to receive the unlock code. Because these companies often have people working with carriers that provide the keys to them.

Make sure to select any correct information about your device for successful unlocking.

Unlock activation. Once you have confirmed your iPhone is jailbroken, you need to unlock the activation key before it will work.

Insert a sim card from another carrier. If you get a signal then stop at this step. If not, continue.

If you have a jailbreak program installed, open Settings, then select General and select Reset. Select Reset Network Settings. Proceed to the next step.

Activate iPhone. If you receive a request to activate your iPhone, do one of two things:

Directly from iPhone via Wi-Fi connection

Connect iPhone to your computer and activate through iTunes.

If you still can't activate your iPhone, reinstall the most recent iOS operating system. If your phone is jailbroken, this will disable that. Once the restore is complete, your phone should be up and running.
