Google Chrome 18 is the world's most popular browser
On April 23, Internet survey firm Pingdom published a new report on the market share of browser versions across the globe, whereby Google Chrome 18 is the world's most popular browser with 25.6% market share.
Followed by Mozilla Firefox 11 (15.8%), Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 (15.7%), Internet Explorer 8 (14.6%) respectively.
If all versions are included, Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser is leading the global market share, followed by Chrome and Firefox.
Thus, the 'Fox Fire' browser has no longer maintained its position as runner-up as before.
In addition, considering the North American market alone, Internet Explorer 9 is the most popular with 21.2% market share, followed by Chrome 18 (20.2%).
Pingdom said that when calculating the entire version, the total market share of Internet Explorer in North America is up to 40.4%.
