Google awards $ 1,000 to anyone who can hack the most popular applications on Google Play
Yesterday, Google launched a bug-finding program for popular apps on its Play Store. Dubbed the Play Security Reward program - the bug finder will be offered through the HackerOne platform and does not target Google's own Android applications. This means that Google will reward even those who find application errors that are released from other providers.
The program allows security researchers to work directly with Android application developers to find and fix bugs in their applications. The prize for finding bugs is up to 1000 USD.

The program was officially released yesterday (October 19, 2017) and applies to 13 applications of 8 developers including Alibaba, Dropbox, Dulingo, Headspace, Line, Mail.ru, Snapchat and Tinder.
Currently, the bug search program limits the number of certain developers, but Google said it will expand the program for more applications and developers in the future.
Google also said that errors detected in applications and reported through Play Security Reward Program will benefit all application developers.
It is worth noting that this program does not include the search and reporting of fake, adware or malicious applications available on the Google Play store, so it will not affect the increase in the number of applications malicious application on its application platform.
According to Google, the scope of this program is limited to the corresponding RCE (remote control codes) and POCs (Proof of concepts) vulnerabilities operating on Adroid 4.4 and above devices.
