He predicted that the 2018 iPhone will have a full screen design with the minimum bezel like the iPhone X. It will also be the end for Touch ID, a biometric authentication method that has been available since 2013. Will Touch ID really succeed as expected?
Kuo also said that Apple stopped using Touch ID will also cause Android manufacturers to stop identifying by fingerprint. He hopes high-end Androids will stop using optical fingerprint sensors under the screen and replace them with 3D sensors.
Although Kuo predicts that, Apple's software director Craig Federighi recently said that Apple is not ready to give up Touch ID on all of its products. He said that although Face ID is the future of biometric authentication, combining different methods is a good idea.
