Gamma Emulator iOS receives a bunch of new updates

Gamma launched on the App Store in May, thanks to a new App Store policy change that began allowing game emulators on Apple's app store. Gamma is a PlayStation 1 emulator for iPhone and iPad, and it has recently received a number of updates, improving the gameplay and experience for players.

In the most recent update, the developer added new settings for Advanced Audio. In the update description, the developer wrote that the sound has been improved using "reverb and interpolation effects". In the App Store notes, the developer writes that this improves sound effects in games.

Gamma can also now emulate the PlayStation Multitap adapter, allowing certain games to support up to 4 players instead of just 2.

In other recent updates, Gamma has added disc swapping support, allowing players to easily switch between discs on multi-part games without having to return to the main menu.

The emulator now also supports Cheats, allowing you to modify or skip your gameplay as you wish. In addition to those changes, there's now a new controller interface and a library of games with new "cool cover art."

This update also fixes issues with certain titles, providing users with access to even more games. Gamma, like most iOS gaming emulators, does not have any games available. So it's up to the user to source their own ROM.

Gamma is available for free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad models running iOS 15 or later, although it includes ads. If you want to skip ads, buy Gamma Pro for $4.99.
