Step 2:
Now, open the website you want to translate, highlight the word or text you want to translate, and then click the extension icon in the address bar.
You will then see the content translated into another language.
If you want to change the target language, click on " Translate this page" and then select the language you want to translate to.
Additionally, the utility supports translating entire websites via Google Translate, translating links, and translating the currently selected tab. To translate an entire website, simply right-click anywhere on the page and select "Translate this page ."
Next, we will be taken to the Google Translate website to translate the entire content on the page.
The method for translating a link is similar: right-click on the link and select "Translate selected link" . You will then be redirected to the Google Translate page to use the translation.
Step 3:
To make the Simple Translate extension work more effectively, we should change some settings. Click on the extension icon in your browser, then click on the gear icon .
Step 4:
Switch to the extension's settings page. The interface is divided into 5 main sections with different settings. In the General section , users can select 2 target languages under Target language. Therefore, when translating, the tool prioritizes that default target language, so select Vietnamese under default target.
If you want to add definitions when selecting a single word for translation, activate "Show multiple translation candidates when a single word is translated."
The definition of a word will include the part that says "what type of word is it?" as shown in the image below.
Step 5:
Scroll down to the Web page section to edit the different translation styles.
Display translation button : This button displays a translation button to open the content translation frame. The translation icon will look like the image below, and you just need to click it to see the translation. You can adjust the size and position of the translation button in the Style section below.
Display translation panel : This displays the translation box without requiring you to click the translation icon as shown above. Users simply highlight the word they want to translate, and the translation result box will appear immediately.
Don't display button or panel : Neither the translation icon nor the translation box will be displayed. Therefore, users will only be able to use the translation box via the extension icon in the browser's address bar.
Do not display the button if translation is not required : The utility detects the language and, if it matches the target language, the translation icon will not be displayed when the word is highlighted.
Automatically switch to the second language : This utility detects the language and, if it matches the default target language, automatically switches to the second target language. This depends on the language settings you configured in the first section, General.
Step 6:
In the Style section , you can customize the display of the button and the translation panel. The Translation Button allows you to adjust the translation icon, and the Translation Panel allows you to adjust the translation panel. For the translation panel, you can choose the width and height, the font size, and the background color.
If you change the background color, choose a color that is clear and pleasing to the eye, avoiding colors that are too dark, so that it complements the colors of the content after translation.
The remaining settings can be left as they are.
Step 7:
If you want to revert to the previous settings, click the Reset button in the Reset settings section .
Simple Translate is a very useful extension that allows users to instantly translate words or paragraphs on the current webpage in Firefox. It offers many settings options for translating web content, suitable for individual needs.
