Apple Still Has Two Unannounced Features for iOS 26

During the WWDC25 event held in early June, Apple introduced a series of AI features and a new operating system design philosophy called Liquid Glass. Although iOS 26 currently has no shortage of new features, the iPhone maker may still be holding back some interesting utilities that are expected to be announced in the coming months.

According to Bloomberg's Apple writer Mark Gurman, Apple did not announce two quite useful iOS 26 features at WWDC 2025. Those are the feature of live translation of conversations via AirPods, and the ability to synchronize wireless network login information between devices at hotels or gyms.

While these features were previously rumored to be coming to iOS 26, Apple has actually delayed the plans, perhaps not ready for mass release. Apple seems to have learned from the Apple Intelligence 'disaster', abandoning its familiar strategy of announcing new features before they are actually ready.

Apple has been careful not to announce anything until close to release (whether in the first iOS 26 release or an update shortly after). The company doesn't want to risk a repeat of WWDC 2024, where it announced many features—including some key technologies—that ended up being delayed by months or never showed up.

Translate directly via AirPods:

1. Live Translate is now integrated with popular apps like Messages, FaceTime, and Phone to help users break down language barriers. A version for AirPods is in the works, allowing users to hear real-time voice translations directly through their headphones.

Sync WiFi information:

1. This feature allows you to sync your login information across the entire Apple ecosystem, making it easy to connect to public WiFi networks without having to log in individually on each device.

While these features aren't yet available in iOS 26, they're likely to be released later this year, in October or December. The delay reflects lessons learned from how some features were announced too early, but ultimately had to be pushed back from their original plans.
