The best new features in Apple Music
At WWDC 2025 , Apple announced a bunch of new Apple Music features that users have been really looking forward to. So whether you're a loyal Apple Music user or not, these new features are definitely worth checking out.
Apple Announces New Features for Apple Music
During its WWDC keynote on June 9, 2025, Apple announced major new versions of its operating system, which are expected to launch later this year. But the keynote wasn't just about the operating system. Apple also announced new features for its services, including Apple Music, which is getting four new features.
1. Translate the lyrics
One of the most impressive new features of Apple Music is the translation of lyrics. They say music knows no borders. If you listen to a variety of music from around the world and in different languages, you'll definitely want to try this feature. Whether you're listening to K-pop, reggaeton, or Congolese rhumba with a dash of French and local dialect, the language barrier always limits your ability to connect deeply with the songs.
With Lyrics Translation, Apple Music provides real-time translations right in the lyrics view. What makes this feature even better is how seamlessly it integrates into the service. As the song plays, you can follow both the original lyrics and their translations, line by line.
2. Pronounce the lyrics
Another new feature coming to Apple Music that I'm excited to try is Lyrics Pronunciation. While translations help you understand the meaning, Lyrics Pronunciation goes a step further by helping you pronounce words correctly.
If you love singing along but often mumble foreign lyrics or mispronounce your favorite chorus, Lyrics Pronunciation is a godsend. This feature is especially useful for those with multilingual music tastes, making it easy to follow along and sing along with confidence, even if you don't speak the language.
3. AutoMix
As the name suggests, this is a feature that automatically mixes one song into the next, just like a DJ. As you might have guessed, AutoMix uses AI to recognize the song that is playing and ensures a seamless transition to the next song.
It sounds similar to Spotify's AI DJ feature, but the mechanics are quite different. Instead of just creating playlists on the fly, AutoMix goes a step further by adding unique, smooth transitions between songs. That way, you can forget about awkward silences and sudden tempo changes.
4. Pin music
Another subtle but handy addition to Apple Music is the ability to pin your favorite albums, playlists, or artists to the top of your library. It's not as big a deal as some of the others, but it's a practical improvement that makes everyday use more convenient.
Apple Music's New Features Are Reasons to Switch
Apple Music's latest features aren't just cool features, they're real quality of life upgrades that improve the way we discover, enjoy, and interact with music. Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation are a perfect match for anyone who enjoys music in a language they don't speak. AutoMix is ideal if you want a dynamic listening session that flows seamlessly from one track to the next.
Even as a loyal Spotify user who occasionally jumps over to Apple Music to enjoy the best of its "rival," many are excited about the new additions.
Apple Music's new features reflect a thoughtful shift toward a more universal, user-centric listening experience. But as exciting as these new features are, they're not available right now. Fortunately, the wait won't be long, as Apple plans to roll them out this fall alongside iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, and watchOS 26.
