AMD begins rolling out official support driver updates for Windows 11

Microsoft has officially confirmed Windows 11 will be released on October 5, and users can now join the Windows Insider program to experience the first builds of this operating system.

Now is the right time for PC component manufacturers like Intel, AMD and Nvidia to gradually prepare necessary driver and application update packages for their hardware ecosystem on Windows 11.

Intel and Nvidia have now released new driver packages that are compatible with both Windows 10 version 21H2 (October 2021 Update) and Windows 11 version 21H2. Today, another major manufacturer, AMD, has finally started releasing new driver updates that are ready for Windows 11.

Specifically, AMD has officially implemented the Ryzen 3.09.01.140 driver version for Windows 11. The new update supports all the features that can be found in Radeon Software on Windows 11, including Radeon Boost, Radeon Anti- Lag, Radeon Image Sharpening, etc. Also improves compatibility with Microsoft's new operating system - a very important aspect.

Additionally, the new update will also address potential issues with Windows 11 on supported chipsets, including 400-series and 300-series.

If interested, you can download driver packages from AMD's website. However, Windows 11-enabled features will not be enabled on incompatible PCs.

Windows 11 hardware and driver requirements

As is known, Microsoft sets some basic hardware requirements that a PC must meet if it wants to run Windows 11. Windows 11 can be downloaded for free, but it cannot be installed through Windows Update on PCs that use the suite. Intel 6th and 7th generation processors, as well as AMD Ryzen 2000 and earlier CPUs.

In other words, if your PC uses an older processor like Ryzen 1000, it won't be able to run Windows 11. However, you can still download driver updates to improve support for Windows. 11 and address bugs that affect the overall experience.
