UTM, the application that helps iPhone 'run' Windows 10

This application, called UTM, uses the QEMU (virtualization software) tool to run the full version of Windows 10 from the system image of the operating system.

Are you tired of iOS, but still want to use your iPhone, and want to find a good experience on your phone? A group of independent application developers on Github has just introduced a new piece of software that will allow you to run Windows 10 on your own iPhone. The information immediately became a hot topic on many major technology forums, so what is this really an application like?

The application, called UTM, uses the QEMU (virtualization software) tool to run the full version of Windows 10 from the operating system's image file system.

IOS devices typically do not support hardware virtualization, and the UTM application is designed to be able to connect to the SPICE server in QEMU, enabling parallel virtualization of operating system platforms. In short, with UTM, you can run Windows 10 and even Linux on an iPhone or iPad at an acceptable speed.

This application requires sideloaded (download the entire application content from an existing file, via an intermediary means a computer). However, you will not need to unlock it to use it. There is a small note that Apple could completely break the compatibility between UTM and future iOS updates on non-jailbroken devices.

This project is still at an early stage of development and there is still much room for improvement in the future. Currently, the development team has no plans to release the UTM publicly, they are seeking help from both frontend and backend developers. If you are interested in the project, you can visit the official UTM website (getutm.app) or the project website on Github (github.com/utmapp/UTM) for more details.

In a related news, a number of other free developers on Github have also recently installed and successfully run Windows 10X on Apple's MacBooks, using the Windows 10X Emulator system image that Microsoft just released. Onion, for a pretty interesting experience.
