Unable to handle the 'dead blue screen', Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 running on some outdated CPUs
So far, Windows 7 has been used by many people despite its nearly 10 years of launch (October 22, 2009), even after the launch of Windows 8 and Windows 10. But starting from January 14, 2020, Microsoft will discontinue technical support for Windows 7. Microsoft's decision comes after the company cannot resolve the error due to a security update, copper. It is recommended that users update to higher versions to ensure security.
Specifically, the update KB4088875 released in March 2018 for Windows 7 has continuously caused a 'dead blue screen' error. It is worth mentioning that this error appears on some computers using outdated CPUs such as Intel Pentium III (1999-2003) because it does not support Streaming Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) Extensions 2 (SSE2). And the 'blue screen death' error continues to appear in the updates that were released later.
This forced Microsoft to make an official statement on June 16 that it could not give a radical solution because the CPU lines encountered this situation were too outdated.
Experts at Microsoft also made recommendations, with processors that support SSE2 users should upgrade the device. According to previous information, Microsoft will officially declare Windows 7 in 2020.
