Text prediction coming to Microsoft Edge
According to developer Leopeva64-2, the "Text Prediction" feature is currently being rolled out to the Dev and Canary channels for Microsoft Edge users and developers to conduct testing.
As its name suggests, the text prediction feature predicts what you want to type next. Predictions will be shown as gray suggestions and you press Tab or the right arrow to add predictions to your text. Usage is similar to Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Currently, only testers or developers using Edge Dev or Canary versions can use this feature. More annoying is that not everyone participating in the test can use text prediction because it is only available to those who live in the US and have English as the default language.
Microsoft promises that in the future more languages will be added to the predictive text feature. So, you can rest assured that this feature will be available to users in other parts of the world in the future.
Microsoft introduced text prediction on Microsoft Edge last week. However, they take a little more time to be able to roll it out to test users.
Text prediction will help Edge users not only type faster, but also type more accurately, with fewer errors. Last year, Microsoft added Microsoft Editor, a spelling and grammar checker, to Microsoft Edge. Text prediction combined with Microsoft Editor will make Edge much more useful, users will no longer need to install third-party extensions.
Microsoft is currently investing a lot in Microsoft Edge, so it promises to have more attractive features in the future.
