Reset password, recover login password on Mac
Resetting your Mac password can be done in several ways, such as using the installation disc to reset it, or using commands to delete the old password and replace it with a new one. This article will guide you through the second method.
In our previous article, we guided you on how to reset your Mac login password using the installation disc. However, this is difficult for MacBooks without a DVD drive. Therefore, you can refer to our following article to log into the system.

You can download the OS X Yosemite
installer. Step 1: Start your Mac in Single User Mode , similar to Safe Mode on Windows, by pressing the " Command + S " key combination.
Step 2: After entering Single User Mode, enter the following commands:
* sudo mount -uw /
* rm -rf /var/db/.AppleSetupDone to delete the AppleSetupDone file
* reboot to restart your Mac.
Step 3: After restarting, the following screen will appear. Check " Do not transfer my information now " (see image below)
. Step 4: When the " Enter Your Apple ID" window appears , press the " Command + Q " key combination to skip it and click Skip .
Step 5: Create a new Administrator account here, then click Continue.
Step 6: Click Go here.
Step 7: After logging in with the newly created account, click System Preferences --> Accounts.
Step 8: Select the account you want to recover and click Reset Password.
Step 9: Enter your new password and repeat it in the box below, then click Reset Password.
