The phenomenon of device drivers (drivers) is incompatible with the new version of the operating system, which is not new to Windows 10 users since its launch in late 2015.

The fact is that Windows 10 drivers are often 'accidentally' pushed into the wrong device (or possibly an error from Microsoft's OEM partner), and the incompatibility between the driver and the operating system is caused. There are many annoying problems for users, including blue screen error (BSOD), loss of connection or even data loss in some cases.

Last year, Intel accidentally pushed an incompatible audio driver update to Windows 10 devices through Windows Update, and this has caused the sound systems of millions of Windows 10 users around the world to suffer. completely disabled. Or as in the case of 2019, some Windows 10 updates were blocked due to driver compatibility issues. Intel and Microsoft quickly recovered incompatible drivers and replaced them with other versions. However, such incidents indicate the fact that Windows is not yet a complete platform, especially with the Windows Update program. And Microsoft should come up with a solution soon to fix this problem.

Currently, when microsoft detects an incompatible driver status with Windows 10, they will immediately block affected devices from installing a new version of Windows 10, and notify their OEM partners such as HP, Lenovo or Dell.

However, the above will soon change. According to a recently leaked internal document, Microsoft will modify the process for dealing with incompatible drivers. The new process will allow Microsoft's OEM partners to request a blockade of the faulty driver before it can reach Windows Update and be delivered to users.

After Microsoft receives a request to block driver error from a partner, Windows Update will also stop providing feature updates for devices that run incompatible drivers.

Microsoft is also working on another change to prevent new drivers from being installed through Windows Update one day before and after Patch Tuesday. Also new drivers will not be pushed to the system within 2 days before and after a Windows 10 feature update is applied.
