Currently, Microsoft advises users to stop using the device and contact technology support to recover data.Some tech experts think that perhaps the data is not deleted but is hidden.If so, continuing to use the device may cause the hidden data to be overwritten.
Microsoft has not officially announced details about this error.But Dona Sarkar from Microsoft posted on Twitter saying that just by contacting support, they will have 'tools to bring it back to its original state'.
