Microsoft released a new update for Windows 11 Beta, fixing AMD CPU performance decrease error
After Windows 11 was officially released, AMD posted a report saying that Microsoft's latest operating system can reduce the performance of certain applications on PCs and laptops equipped with Ryzen CPUs due to processor lag. CPU L3 cache memory can be tripled. This can cause memory-intensive applications to suffer a performance hit. According to AMD's estimates, certain applications can experience a 3-5% drop in performance, and a 10-15% drop in gaming performance.
To overcome this situation, Microsoft recently released Windows 11 Build 22000.282 update with many improvements and especially re-optimization for Ryzen CPUs.
Microsoft says that an L3 cache issue that can affect performance in some applications on devices running AMD Ryzen CPUs will be fixed after upgrading to the final version of Windows 11. This fix can restore up to 15% performance in some user's work and gaming tasks.
However, Windows 11 Build 22000.282 has only been released to users who have participated in the Windows Insider program Beta branch and Release Preview only. As for users who are using the official version of Windows 11 will have to wait until the optional update will be released by Microsoft later this month.
The L3 cache problem has been acknowledged by Microsoft and AMD since the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build was released. However, it was not until Windows 11 was officially released that Microsoft solved it.
