To gain user confidence, the attackers created a window with the appearance of the words 'Protect from Denial of Service DDoS (DDoS Protection)' and a fake message informing Users about being redirected to the site of one of the largest recruitment companies. But in fact, users are redirected to a cloud storage site and download a malicious program used to steal money named Gozi, which looks like a word file. That is 'Trojan-Banker.Win32.Gozi.bqr'.

As recommended by Kaspersky Lab experts, to avoid becoming a victim of malicious spam users need to pay attention:

  1. Always check the web address you are redirected to.
  2. Check the link address to make sure it is not hidden (hyperlink) with another link.
  3. Don't click on links in emails, texts, messages or social networking posts from people you don't know.
  4. Please check the official website of the company for which you intend to apply.
  5. Call the recruitment company to make sure you have received a formal invitation from the company.
  6. Carefully review invitations from companies: double check the company name, title and job description.
  7. Use security solutions of reputable firms to protect against online threats.
