After you have completed the above steps, the news widget will no longer appear in the Taskbar. To make it visible again, just repeat the operation, but choose Show icon and text (or Show icon only ) instead of Hidden .

How to disable the news widget using Registry

• Find the following key:

• Name the newly created key ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode and press Enter
• Double click the newly created key and set it to 2 to turn off the news widget
• Click OK
• Reboot the machine

When the phone finishes booting up, the news widget will be hidden. To enable the news widget by Registry then follow the steps above but change the value of the key from 2 to 0 .
