4. Check if you have a recovery partition on your computer.

Restore factory settings for Dell Windows 7 laptop
Follow the steps below:
1. First, back up your computer, save all important files and documents to an external hard drive. If you factory reset your Windows 7 laptop, all personal data will be deleted from your computer.
2. Turn off the laptop properly and disconnect all peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, network cables and USB, etc.
