How to create crossword puzzles on Canva AI extremely quickly

No coding or game creation commands are required; the Crossword AI application in Canva AI helps teachers quickly create crossword puzzles with random word themes, generated by AI based on your provided content. Simply input the number of words, the word theme, and the target audience. Crossword AI will immediately generate a list of words and arrange them horizontally and vertically for students to guess, along with hints. Below are instructions for creating a crossword puzzle on Canva AI.

 

Guide to creating crossword puzzles on Canva AI

Step 1:

On the Canva AI interface, click the three-dot icon and then select "Apps" as shown below.

 

Next, on the new interface, enter the keyword "Crossword AI" into the search bar and then click below to find the application.

You will then see the application displayed; tap on it to proceed with creating the crossword puzzle game.

 

Step 2:

You will be asked whether to create the game using the existing design or the old design; click the option you want to use.

Step 3:

In the word generation interface for the crossword game, first delete all the suggested words available in Crossword AI.

 

Next, enter the description of the word you want to create for the game using the formula below.

At this point, you will see Crossword AI randomly generate words according to your request, with suggestions for each word already provided vertically and horizontally below, arranged by the application.

 

Step 4:

For each word, when you tap the pen icon , the word editing interface and hints will appear. Teachers can change the hint content to make it easier for students to guess the word, then tap Save Changes.

If you have a Canva AI Pro account, you'll have additional background color adjustment options like the ones below.

 

Finally, click Add to design to create the crossword puzzle game.

Step 5:

At this point, you will see the crossword puzzle game appear in Canva as shown below, including the game section and the horizontal and vertical row hints.
