Detect infected files before opening

Based on your software

Your security software (antivirus or anti-malware program) is almost capable of checking a file before you open it (or even before you convert it from a physical environment to your computer). I). This is how to do that.

1. View the icon of the file in a window.

2. Right-click the icon to bring up the context menu.

3. Your security software may have a menu item labeled Scan file or a similar label. Click on any item to perform the scan.

If it's still not clear, search again for names and other categories like "malware," "safe," or "remove". You can also check the reputation of the website that requires you to accept the software. If you still feel unsafe, leave it there and don't interfere.

1. The latest versions of web browsers can show downloaded files and warn you about malicious programs, blocking recently detected malware.
