Check iOS 17.1 Battery life on iPhone XS, XR, 11 models
iOS 17.1 has been released by Apple to resolve some outstanding issues on the latest iPhone 15 Pro models. However, many users of older iPhone models are curious whether their battery life and performance will increase after updating iOS 17.1.
iAppleBytes, a YouTube channel that compares iPhone speed and battery life across iOS versions, conducted a number of battery tests to see whether older iPhone models running iOS 17.1 have optimized battery life or not.
iAppleBytes still uses the Geekbench 6 application to perform tests on iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13.
Test results show that Apple has indeed optimized the Battery in the iOS 17.1 update with newer iPhone models. Specifically, the Battery Test score measured through Geekbench 4 of iPhone SE 2020 running on iOS 17.1 is 2198 points, an increase of 2109 points compared to iOS 17.0.3. iPhone XR reached 3046 points, lower than when running iOS 17.0.3 with 3284 points.
iPhone 11 scored 2930 points on iOS 17.1, down from 3353 points on iOS 17.0.3. Newer iPhone models 12 and 13 saw big increases after updating to iOS 17.1.

Compare speed and battery life of iOS 17 with iOS 16.6.1
iOS 17 with a series of new features and improvements has been released by Apple. As usual, Youtube channel iAppleBytes immediately performed tests to compare the speed and battery life of iPhone on the latest versions of iOS 16.6.1 and iOS 17. This test is to help users have an overview of the speed and battery life of iOS 17 before updating the iPhone.
iPhones will have to undergo tests from basic levels such as opening and performing some operations on default applications, to advanced such as using Geekbench 6 applications, social networks, and games.
Speed Test iOS 17 and iOS 16.6.1
Test results show that most iPhone models from XR to 13 running iOS 16.6.1 access applications faster than when running on iOS 17. Especially with iPhone XR, when running iOS 17, it slows down significantly when running iOS 17. in the test with the Geekbench 6 application.
Battery test iOS 17 and iOS 16.6.1
For the battery life test, iAppleBytes performed it through Geekbench. The result of iPhone SE 2020 running on iOS 17 has a score of 2032, lower than 2243 on iOS 16.6.1.
Other iPhones running iOS 17 also have lower scores when running iOS 16.6.1. Specifically, IPhone XR reached 2528 points, down from 3376 points on iOS 16.6.1; iPhone 11 reached 3237 points, down from 3487 points on iOS 16.6.1; Similarly, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 also have worse scores than iOS version 16.6.1.
According to some users, their iPhone gets hot and the battery drains quickly after upgrading to iOS 17.
