Benefits from BCC function when sending email

What is BCC?

BCC is abbreviated for Blind Carbon Copy , allowing you to hide the list of recipients in emails. Unlike addressing in the To: field or CC: ( Carbon Copy : co-send), set the address in the BCC field : make other recipients not see the mail address.

Why use this function?

There are several main reasons we want to use this function:

• Privacy - Sometimes it will be very beneficial, even necessary to let the person know who else is receiving your email. But in other cases, you want to send the same message to many recipients without letting them know. For example, if you are sending an email in the name of an organization or company, it is very important to keep the list of customers, members, and important contacts. You may want to avoid listing a list of email addresses in a message sent to external recipients.

• Check - You may want to access or store email messages that are being sent in another email account, or you may want to send them to someone (like a supervisor or group member) even though that person not related to the exchange process. BCC allows you to send mail to a few other people who actually don't know it.

• Respect for recipients - Forward messages often contain a long list of email addresses that have been sent by the previous sender. These addresses are very valid, so they are valid for spam attackers. Moreover, many email-borne viruses also take advantage of it and collect email addresses in these messages. So a long list of forwarded messages can pose a risk to all accounts they point to if you have been infected with malware.

Many people often forward messages to the entire address using CC . Advise these people, who forward messages to you using BCC so that your email address does not appear in someone else's mailbox. To avoid this problem, use BCC if you forward messages to others. You need to take a moment to delete all existing email addresses inside the message. How to BCC an email message?

Most email clients have the BCC option listed under the To: field. However, sometimes it is an option that is not listed by default. If you can't find them, check the help menu or software documentation.

If you want BCC to reach all recipients, but the email client does not send the message to the To: field, you can use your own email address in that field. In addition to hiding the recipient's identity, this option also allows you to confirm that the message was successfully sent.
