Recent security reports show that this vulnerability is being exploited by hackers quite a bit in practice. These security flaws include: Flash Player 12.0.0.43 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh, Flash Player 11.2.202.335 and earlier versions for Linux machines . So Adobe recommends that users update to the latest version, namely:
- Users of Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.43 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh should update Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44.
- Users of Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202335 and earlier versions for Linux should update Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.336.
- Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.41 installed with Google Chrome will automatically update to the latest version of Google Chrome, including Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
- Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.38 installed with Internet Explorer 10 browser will be automatically updated to the latest version of Internet Explorer 10, including Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows 8.0.
- Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.38 installed with Internet Explorer 11 browser will be automatically updated to the latest version of Internet Explorer 11, including Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows 8.1.
In other words, unless you're using the latest version of Chrome or Internet Explorer, Adobe advises users to update the patch to ensure their system safety.
