Microsoft released an emergency patch for Windows, turned off the Specter patch, causing a drop in system performance
Microsoft's newly released emergency update for Windows has removed the patch for two serious vulnerabilities Specter and Meltdown released since the beginning of the month.
Supported versions of Windows include: Windows 10, Windows 10 LTSB, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016.
Previously, Intel announced the discovery of its latest Specter vulnerability update that caused another serious security error. It makes devices constantly restarting for unknown reasons and performance degradation is quite serious. The security patch that Microsoft released from the beginning of the month for Windows has also been integrated with an error-causing update from Intel, so it released an emergency update to turn off the patch's Specter Varriant 2 features. before.
Currently, users can not immediately update the emergency update mentioned above via Windows Update but can download and install manually from Microsoft Update Catalog.
