Internet Explorer crashed extremely dangerous, Microsoft released an emergency patch
Yesterday, Microsoft had to release an emergency update to patch an extremely serious Internet Explorer vulnerability, even though the browser is no longer being used by users.
In particular, an attacker can take advantage of this vulnerability to gain control of the affected computer and is serious that the vulnerability appears on almost every version, including Windows 10.
This vulnerability is found in Internet Explorer scripting engine discovered by the Threat Analysis Group threat analysis team of Google.
In an unusual security recommendation, Microsoft said that this vulnerability could cause memory corruption. When an attacker successfully exploits this vulnerability, it is possible to execute arbitrary, equivalent code lines that have equal access to the current user.
If the current user is logged on as an administrator, an attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability has the same rights, has the right to install the program, view, change, delete data, create new accounts .
According to Cisco Talos Intelligent Group, this vulnerability can be activated in many different ways. For example, through a modified web page when accessed by users.
Vulnerabilities appear on almost every version, including:
- Internet Explorer 11: From Windows 7 to Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019.
- Internet Explorer 9: Windows Server 2008.
- Internet Explorer 10: Windows Server 2012.
Microsoft emergency patch will be available to users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019.
Microsoft insists, there is no way to overcome or mitigate the vulnerability. Therefore, users who can no longer use Internet Explorer regularly should turn on Windows Update and update this security patch as soon as possible.
