4 types of professional filters should be available when taking photos

As a passionate photographer with DSLR cameras, owning some additional filters (Filter) is essential. The simple use of filters is to protect your lens from outside impacts and dirt. But more importantly, it helps to increase the quality of photos. And each type of filter has its own effects and features.

1. UV filter:

Consider UV filters like the default filter that is always on the front of your lens wherever you are. Initially, the UV filter glass is designed to remove translucent layers caused by ultraviolet light reflecting dust in the air. Modern digital cameras are able to remove ultraviolet rays themselves, so in this respect, the UV filter does not work. The mission of UV glasses is to protect your lens from bumps and scratches. The biggest advantage of circular polarized filters is that you can adjust the effect by rotating on the front of your lens. That means you can be creative with effects and decide which effects are best for each picture.

A polarizing filter works best when used at right angles to the sun. It is very light sensitive so you may need to use a tripod if shooting landscapes with this filter. Anyway using a tripod to capture landscapes is always a good idea! The color depth effect of polarizing filters is difficult to create in the image processing tool (digital darkroom).

3. ND (Neutral Density filter) filter:

A set of ND filters helps to sharpen your photo by reducing a percentage of light. The fact that photographers spend most of their time pursuing light seems crazy. However, ND filters are extremely useful for both landscape and travel photographers. Use an ND filter that allows you to reduce the amount of light to create a blur motion effect throughout the day.

This means you can take motion pictures with blur effect when passengers are getting off the train, or the crowd image at a festival. With scenery, use ND glasses to capture waves and motion flow with blur effects. ND filters also allow you to reduce the depth of the photo field and capture beautiful bokeh effects with light effects .

4. Filter of GND (Graduated Neutral Density):

GND filter is a large set of square filters that are very important in capturing landscapes with difficult lighting conditions. The upper half of the GND filter is brown and acts as a normal ND filter, blocking part of the light. The lower half is similar to a UV glass and has no effect on light reduction.
