Windows 7/8 / 8.1 copyright can still upgrade Windows 10 for free

The term of upgrading from free Windows 7/8 / 8.1 to Windows 10 has ended since 2016, but currently users can still upgrade without paying a penny.

In fact, this is a 'flaw' and Microsoft knows it but does not bother with patching because users upgrading from the old version of Windows to Windows 10 does not make it a lot of money.

CokeRobot, a user on Reddit and working for Microsoft, said that the company is not interested in users upgrading from the old version of Windows to Windows 10. What Terry Meyerson, the leader of the Windows segment, was interested at it is a user update, not royalties. The reason is because for Microsoft, Windows is no longer a 'cow'.

Previously, Microsoft also defied the security risks and allowed pirated versions of Windows 7 to be updated to Windows 10.

Currently, Windows 7/8 / 8.1 users with a license key can still upgrade to Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool update tool to install the update.

Users can also install new Windows 10 but need a license key of the machine, can use small tools like ProduKey or possibly a sticker under the machine.
